CB 5. WIND-DOWN PLANNING COMMISSION – Councilmember Kulikoff
Recommendation
City Council to wind-down the Planning Commission and move all planning commission responsibilities to City Council.
Just read another comment talking about bias. There are at least 2 that seem to biased against following the codes and requiring proposals that make sense. If a proposal breaks rules or doesn’t make sense, then it shouldn’t be recommended just for the sake of getting the ball rolling! Now that that agency has been hired, you should allow the planning commission do the job they are there to do. At least give them a chance to work now that they have the proper support. It would be foolish not to

The planning commission is not necessary here in California City. Its recent accomplishments are unremarkable. Also, I'd like to note that it appears to have at least one commissioner with a bias whom is protecting friends that are already up and operating. Wind-down this obstructive waste of time and money!
With the clear bias against some of developers in town by a few commissioners this wouldn’t be a bad idea but the money they receive should be rerouted to the council if they take on that task .
