The Tuesday, October 13, 2020 Special Closed Session 5:00 pm Meeting was never added to the Granicus posting. Consequently, no one was able to submit any e-comments on the subject of that meeting. The Granicus posting of the agenda is considered an official posting location. Furthermore, the live feed didn’t begin until the closed session meetings were well underway, thereby excluding the viewing public from watching, hearing or contributing to the public comments regarding the CS issues.
The city continues to look very run down and unkempt. We want visitors and possible investors to see the very best side of our home. I know xeriscaping has been mentioned. Is there any progress on City Hall, the ball fields, the park, and the berms? Citizens are complaining, and I think a general cleanup would help us all feel more at ease.
Re: Open position for a Recreation Coordinator. I respectfully request the job description be amended to include a mandatory career pathway to becoming a Certified Park and Recreation Professional and that the City maintains membership in the National Recreation and Park Association. As a small city that wants to grow, it is imperative we excel at the level of services provided to our residents. By focusing on Best Practices we can plan for and ensure a better future for our city.
